I’ve known Robert for thirty years, since I was at Edinburgh University, and it was the best good fortune that he has worked on so many striking books for Rizzoli, so this was a natural fit. We worked together, for an intense week, at Robert and Anna’s beautiful house at Broadwoodside, laying out each page as a team, in the middle of storms, power cuts, gorgeous autumnal days and generous suppers. It was one of the happiest creative weeks of my life.’
